Amazing Alphabets
One day, the alphabets had a day off. They were used every day, read, and written, no matter what the situation was. Obviously, poor things, they wouldn’t be spared for even a millisecond.
On 31st December, at the end of the year, was when they had their day off. They were all partying happily and playing football. Only one letter was upset. It was M. All throughout the year M had been used for only one word. The word was miserable! So, poor M was as miserable as anything! She was almost in tears when H for help came. H heartily asked her friend M what the matter was. N, M’s bestie saw and joined. M cheered up a bit at the sight of her best friend. N and H tried very hard to help M till N quickly thought of something to say.
“M, should I tell you something? You are MIRACULOUSLY MAJESTIC!! Don’t think that people thought of only the word miserable when M came to their mind. I’m sure something else made them feel sad. It’s happened to me too, one year I was mostly used for the word nonsense! I did feel bad, but the next year not a single person used a single bad word with N! I was quite pleased. It’s possible that can happen to you too! Now, do you want to come and play football with the others?”
M was feeling much better. “Ok, I guess” she said in her sweet but small voice.
M was, in fact, one of the most popular alphabets. C, E, T, S, I, J, and A, had formed a circle with M and were chanting, “M for MAJESTIC, M for MAJESTIC!!” M was very happy.
N was goalkeeper and couldn’t play because she had injured her arm. N was watching from the clubhouse balcony. The clubhouse was where the alphabets lived. Each alphabet had their own room, and there was a dormitory too, if anyone wanted to sleep together. It had various features like a gym, a common kitchen, a hall, and a table tennis hall. There was much more.
N kept an eye on M. M was smiling widely. N was happy to see that. T, N’s friend, came over and asked for a thumb fight. The two laughed and finally N pushed T’s thumb straight down.
The alphabets enjoyed their free day thoroughly.
A few months later…
M’s birthday was in May. Her year had been the best so far. A was very kind to M and she bought M a lovely gift for her birthday. M was delighted. M and A soon became fast besties.
Shortly after that was J’s birthday in June. Similar celebrations occurred.
On Alphabet Day…
M received a letter at her room doorstep. The envelope had a picture of two friends sitting on a bench, laughing, and singing songs. M immediately knew who it was from. She opened the envelope. Inside was a card, just like the envelope. She opened it and read,
“Dear M,
Today is the alphabet day based on the Alphabetic Calendar. I thought you would like to come with me and the others to the cinema. At 8pm?
From A”.
No more problems with M, and every following year was the best she could dream of.
