Aliens on the Moon (A Day in the life of Puffer)
This is Puffer, your new alien friend. He is very careful, kind, and generous. Puffer lives on Ganymede (one of Jupiter’s moons) with his mum Lizzy, dad Patrick, sister Flora, brother Jack, his grandparents and Tia, his dog.
“Riiiiiiing! Riiiiiiing!” went Puffer’s alarm clock at sharp 7:30am. “Aaargh!” groaned Puffer lazily, stopping his alarm clock. “Mum I told you not to touch my alarm clock!” roared Puffer but instead of seeing his mum he saw Flora. She was looking in his chest of drawers and there was a heap of his clothes. Flora explained to him “Mum is out, dad is at work and Jack is at school”. “What about…” began Puffer but Flora interjected saying “Granddad and grandma? Oh, they are also out”. Puffer gazed at his sister. “How can she read my mind?”, he thought. “I know!” cried Flora suddenly making Puffer nearly jump out of his skin! “I think I saw a poster on the street saying there is a free trip to the moon!” she said. “So that’s all sorted!”.
Puffer stared at his sister in admiration roughly throughout her whole speech! He felt as if he had been watching a news programme! He still felt drowsy though and was about to drift off to sleep but got a sharp nudge by Flora, she said “wake up you sleepyhead, it’s time to get prepared for your moon journey”. By that time, it was 8:15am, all the shops were open while the sun shone brightly and merrily. Puffer got up from bed and stretched widely. Then he looked at his clothes. “That is your spacesuit and that is your helmet” said Flora recognizing her brother’s look swiftly.
Puffer spends the rest of his day preparing and planning for his trip. Finally, he was ready to go! It was 8:46pm and it was pitch dark now, Puffer grabbed the car keys and he was off to the launch-pad! It felt as if the entire planet (Ganymede) was there! You might be wondering about Tia (Puffer’s dog) for she was barking frantically (not knowing what all the excitement was about for the whole time) on Flora’s lap though. Then it was time for take-off! 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 … BLAST OFF!!!!!!!
And he was off! After sometime, he was so high up that Ganymede was a tiny, brownish – whitish dot. The moon looked like a vast and white spot. The rocket he was driving had supersonic speed (just telling you!). Once he was on the surface of the moon, he saw something pale and purple coming towards him. The figure came closer and it was a little alien looking about the age, size, and height as him. The alien was cute and looked a bit shy. “Hi! I am Elisa, I will be your guide” she said realizing that Puffer was friendly. After they introduced each other Elisa began to talk more, “Puffer try jumping” said Elisa. Puffer tried to jump and Ta Da! he was floating! Elisa explained that there was very little gravity on Moon and that’s why he was flying! Puffer enjoyed himself thoroughly! Next Elisa invited Puffer to a midnight feast for it was 12:00pm and Puffer agreed with her. Elisa baked some pancakes and Yorkshire puddings and served ripe green grapes with a drink of cherryade! “Mmmmmm delscrumptious!” muttered Puffer. “That surely was fresh!” said Elisa. Afterwards, Elisa stood up breaking the silence “Now I am going to show you the craters and teach you how to examine them”. “Okay! Okay!” replied Puffer. When they were out of Elisa’s tent, she told him many facts about the moon. After a long chat, Puffer had to go home. He said bye to Elisa, and she said bye to him. BLAST OFF! Now Ganymede was a big whitish-brownish dot and the moon was a tiny white dot!
